I came to massage through my own discussion with anxiety. The anxiety has always been there and I have realized that what I felt colored most if not all of the decisions I made in my life. Even knowing I had anxiety (although I identified it more as depression at the time), the panic and fear acted upon me in ways I wasn't aware of. I just thought I was right, the world sucked, and it was right well and good that I know how and where I was going to park if I went down town on a thursday afternoon!
I obtained my massage license in the spring of 2016 and my sessions work off the idea that kindness and positive touch are theraputic devices that can awaken and enliven your innate wellness. This process begins with the great office that I work in, the energy of the people I work around, as well as light music and aroma, and then it moves on to you, and your needs overall or on that particular day. I will begin by listening to you and what your needs are whether it is just a relaxing nap or pushing out knots in your neck, to devising stretches and exercises to facilitate and enhance movement. Though I am fairly new in the practice of massage, I am adept at multiple modalities such as Swedish techniques, deep tissue, reflexology, energy work, pregnancy massage, acupressure, touch without movement, joint movements, stretches, trigger points, and hot stones. At the Center we are now utilizing medical lasers for the treatment of pain and inflamation, these lasers are a quick and relaxing way to send targeted energy to areas of pain and injuries.
